ARTIST STATEMENT: For thIs piece, I aimed to celebrate what the school board does for education and the school board members and staff themselves. My thought process behind the work is I wanted to take the theme literally and show the school board's diamond legacy actually illuminating the members and staff of the school board. I illustrated that concept by painting a diamond, representing their legacy, shining upon them.
